The Healing

My dreams thee Healing

My dreams they rise and fall, come and go like the sound of the wind in the trees.
And I sit alone tonight and watch the light across your face in a memory:
Down on the beach that warm night, the water cool around our knees,
I never thought that I could hold you tighter,
But the autumn has taken you out of these warm arms and far from me.

And there may be a healing someday,
When all the pain will ease away;
A healing someday,
But not tonight - these arms they miss you too much.

These embers still they burn, I still dream and I still yearn to brush against your perfect soul.
And maybe these hopes are wrong, just a holding-on when I should learn to let you go.
Your eyes are just a kind of haunting that follow me when I close mine,
I can still hear your voice whispering those lovers words soft to me on summer nights.

And there may be a healing someday,
When all the pain will ease away;
A healing someday,
But not tonight - these arms they miss you too much.
